John Travolta’s Son, Jett, Dies Aged 16

Published by coopcrow at 6:46 pm under News Edit This

I’d started another post earlier today but feel that the topic can wait in light of the news I have just heard regarding the sad passing of Jett Travolta. The 16 year old son of Grease star John Travolta died earlier on today whilst on vacation with his family in the Bahamas.

Jett Travolta was a young man with everything to live for. Nobody expects their children to die before they do but my heart goes out to John Travolta and Kelly Preston because they had to watch their child die in front of their eyes and there was absolutely nothing they can do about it. Unlike the drug related deaths of children with famous parents, this was an absolute tragedy that has a medical base and serves as a stark reminder of our mortality. Jett was a teenager with the best money could buy. He grew up in mansions with 5 star family holidays, the best medical attention for his seizures and a fabulous education. His parents doted on him but reportedly taught both him and his sister, 8 year old Ella Blue, the value of money. However, nothing could save him when fate intervened.

Jett had a history of seizures and apparently went into one at the hotel the family were staying at. Numerous attempts to revive him failed and he was pronounced dead at the scene. As a nursing assistant at a care home, I saw someone die in that way a few years ago. Although she was in her 80s, it was a horrible way to go so I can only imagine how the Travolta family felt whilst watching their loved one die. I’d like to send my deepest condolances to them at this awful time and hope that they can get through it.

Rest in peace Jett.
